    Hi @moshezuchter amazing content as usual, I do have question that i stumbled in a particular inconvenience and cant seem to figure out a solution to this one problem, i had to move from my acoustic Westminster stella 96 bass and 37 piano keys to a roland fr1x 72 bass and 26 piano key accordion due to health issues, and my issue is how do you transpose (play) tunes that are designed to be played on bigger accordion due to octaves etc on a much smaller instrument. For example im trying to play indifference on fr1x, my left hand is fine but the right hand im just missing alot of ovtaves to play it, is there way to tackle that issues or do i just need to give it up 😂

    Fascinating. Can't wait to explore this. So many options for the left hand, sometimes it's hard to decide what to pick. There's a skill here that goes beyond simply being proficient with the instrument.

  • @jonlikeswhales
    @jonlikeswhales 7 дней назад

    Hi Ronen! I have a question for you for one of your future live streams or videos. I started playing a few months ago, but I’m struggling when it comes to little pauses in my music whenever I change bellows directions from push to pull or vice versa. You make it seem so fluid and legato whenever your change bellows directions - so any advice, exercises, or tips to help us students with this would be fantastic. Thank you

    • @MG-xs8bi
      @MG-xs8bi День назад

      If you're playing an older or cheap accordion it could be that your bellows aren't air tight. Certainly night and day when it comes to sounding dynamic and playability. Depending on where the air is leaking you can make improvements. You can also try different reed settings so you're not pushing as much air out. For example using a higher bass register rather than the lower one. Maybe this helps, maybe it doesn't. 🤣

    I have been playing the accordion solo and in bands for 8 years, but I don't understand how to play for dancing events. It seems like it would take too much time to learn such a wide variety of songs, especially since one song can take me months to master..

  • @btestware

    Nicely done. I like the way you justify the waltz version by saying you're going to "subvert the expectation". The chords get a little tricky at the end. The E7th really wants a suspended A before you resolve to the G#...I feel like I get away with it on the accordion by tapping the chord in the left hand while holding the A note in the right hand. And the Bm7b5 leading into the E7th....well, you can technically get it by reaching for a D minor over a B bass, but usually I just hold the B bass with no chord. I don't like the way it sounds if I accidentaly hit the B minor chord there...better just to hold the bass note and if anything chunk away with the right hand.

    This is, frankly, awesome advice! I have ordered my first accordion after about six months of learning piano as an adult neophyte, explicitly because this capacity of the instrument to provide rhythmic options for genuine expression is absolutely fascinating to me. Now of course, the piano has similar capacity, but not with the same easy facility for changing the voice of the instrument. In the specific example of "I Will Survive" I *really* like what you did in making it a tango: the song itself carries defiance and almost *anger* in the lyrics and in the classic Gaynor recording, which seem to me to be really well suited to the tango.

    I picked up an accordion a couple weeks ago. I have not played an instrument in 15 years, so I feel very rusty trying to play anything. It seems like I need to practice hand independence a lot! Even the second level of tapping the right hand in a different rhythm feels incredibly hard. This video helped me understand what was giving me trouble and figure steps for practicing this specific skill. Thank you so much!

    I am really crap with my right-hand -> yes I use it, but mostly for drone notes (I do a lot of Scandinavian pieces), but would like to do some more Bass work - any tips?

    • @moshezuchter
      @moshezuchter 20 дней назад

      Get that right-hand working, even for drone music... There is so much versatility that it can offer. Start simply, with C major scales, triads, and arpeggios as I recommend in the 15 minutes of practice. Same with left hand - make sure your chord changes are clear and smooth. Here are the exercises for the 15 minutes of practice: accordionlove.com/how-to-practice-the-accordion/

    • @NigelMcLaughlin
      @NigelMcLaughlin 19 дней назад

      @@moshezuchter My left hand is fine -> old video from a long time ago -> ruclips.net/video/upxIiP7a6rU/видео.html but my bass work is again very simple. I don't like the overused right-hand of a lot of Bulgarian music (that video is Greek - and is 20 times the pace it's meant to be, but I play a lot of Bulgarian in a more traditional style as well) . But right hand seems too much in many cases and too complex - but yes, but maybe get used to mixing up base patterns (oh, and I have a proper Italian Accordion now, not that piece of junk).
